How we vet.
A clearer starting point for choosing an installer. A clear standard for joining our network.
Your solar, battery or EV charging project deserves an informed conversation. We check participating installers’ credentials and match introductions to the home and the work involved.
What we check.
Participating installation businesses must meet these requirements.
- Business registration
- An active Australian Business Number (ABN) and GST registration.
- Electrical contractor licensing
- The appropriate electrical contractor licence for the state or territory where the work takes place.
- Insurance
- Current insurance applicable to the work.
- Installer accreditation
- The person responsible for the installation must hold the applicable current Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation.
Business history may also be considered. There is no automatic minimum trading-history requirement.
Bring your expertise.
Work with homeowners who have started thinking through their property, priorities and energy needs. Their preliminary plan and installer brief give you a starting point for the site visit and quote.

How introductions are funded.
Customers do not pay Smarter Solar to use the website. Participating installers pay a fee for each lead they receive. That fee does not affect the matching criteria or order.
Smarter Solar is operated by AWE Electrical Services Pty Ltd, which also provides electrical installation services. Other suitable participating installers are offered leads first. AWE only takes a lead if no other suitable participating installer purchases it. If another installer purchases the lead, AWE does not receive it as an installer, even if fewer installers accept it than you requested.
